For my senior thesis I chose to focus on increasing engagement and cultural relevance of outdoor spaces. I was specifically focused on the nearby metro parks in the Columbus area. This project took the form of a marketing campaign called Spark.

Through my research I found that access to transportation and equipment were two of the greatest barriers in people being able to recreate at parks.

In addition to partnering with COTA (Central Ohio Transit Authority), Spark has a bus that travels to the different park locations allowing people to borrow gear during their stay as well as rent gear for a larger adventure.

Digital bus shelter ads to be placed by COTA bus stops that capture the diverse people who make up Columbus’ parks.
